Flag request as Exception

Why flag a request?

Unlike Holds, which keep you in control of a request, an Exception means:

o       I can’t fix what’s wrong;

AND

o       Someone else needs to deal with it.

Should you send Correspondence instead?

An Exception request is still “alive.”

Correspondence closes the request and forces the requester to send a new Request Letter.

If there’s really a problem with WHAT the requester asked for or HOW they presented the request, Correspondence may be the right choice.
