Print a request

You can print all the documents associated with a request, including:

o       Request Letter

o       Certification Letter (if any)

o       Correspondence (if any)

o       Medical Records

o       Invoice (if request has already been processed)

o       Miscellaneous Documents (if any)

Printing a request does NOT change its Request Status.

The request will not be marked as delivered, even if you hand the paper copies to the requester, until you select Onsite Delivery (Walk In) and Submit the request.

Why print a request?

You may need to create local hard copies for many reasons, but some of the more common causes are:

o       Walk-in requests, usually a patient who needs the records right away and is willing to wait for them.

o       Audit or Medicare / Medicaid requests so close to the Due Date that any delay puts the facility at risk of a “technical denial,” which means they lose the claimed amount because the medical records did not arrived in time. You may be asked to print the request and send it via an overnight delivery service like FedEx.

o       Close inspection of documents. In rare cases, the image shown in the Documents Window may not be clear enough for you to read important details, and you might have better results looking at a hard copy. Keep in mind that if the image is blurry, the printed version is likely to be blurry, too.
